Baptism

Baptism is the welcoming in of a new life in Christ. In our church's tradition, this is seen as a sacramental rite. There is instruction for family members and sponsors (godparents) to help them understand the significance of this sacrament. There is also instruction for youth and adults seeking baptism. Holy Eucharist (Communion)

Holy Eucharist is the “great thanksgiving” for our lives in Christ, celebrated weekly on Sundays and at other times. Like baptism, it is a sacramental rite. Eucharist is our weekly baptismal renewal of life in Christ. There is instruction available for adults and children for a fuller understanding of this sacrament. At St. Augustine's, all who seek God and are drawn to Christ are welcome to receive the bread and wine as an outward and visible sign of God's unconditional love.

Confirmation

Confirmation is the sacramental rite that reaffirms our baptismal commitment at an “adult” understanding level. There is preparation required for this sacrament. Please make arrangements through our church office.

A Wedding

Matrimony is one of the “lesser” sacraments. A consultation with the parish Priest is required. We suggest a minimum of 15 weeks lead time for adequate marriage preparation. A marriage preparation course is required, but please consult with our parish Priest. Enquiries about available dates should be made at least nine months prior to your proposed wedding day. Our church is able to seat 225 people on the main floor.

A Funeral

Please contact our church office prior to consulting with a mortician. Every effort is made to respect the need to honour the wishes of the deceased and his/her family. In consultation with our parish Priest, personal memories about the deceased, as well as choices for hymns and scripture, may be made. There is seating for 225 people in our church. In addition to the above, our catering group is able to accommodate most reception requests. Our Lower Hall is able to seat 125 people.
